idealists, where are thou?

Long time no see...but nothing has changed. I seem to be on the hunt all the time, for the perfect man, the right white shirt, the perfect pair of jeans, for dreams or - right now - for idealists.

I have been searching high and low but it seems like idealists are a species that have been extinguished. Almost, anyway. Gone are those days of great friendships, larger than life love stories, gone are Dr Zhivago and his likes.
