Would you erase me?

I´ve just seen Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. I´m speechless. I loved this movie. I laughed so hard so I cried, I even wept a bit and it left me thinking. Nice love story, yes. Theme song "Everybody´s gotta learn sometime" suggests that we perhaps shouldn´t repeat our mistakes over and over again, but then the characters are doing it anyway. They know how it went the first time and they are willing to do it again. Because they consider that it´s worth it. Are we perhaps doing the same thing over and over again, life after life? If we suppose that we "erase" our memories from our past lives, but then, we meet people in this "current" life with whom we feel connected at once, with whom we feel at home, safe, it feels like we have known them forever. How much Dr. Whomever erased peoples memories, they were erased only from their brains. Their hearts and souls and fingertips and all their senses remembered. I wonder where we have our secret hiding place, where we keep our dearest treasures?
